I started Genesis Essentials because of my love for nature and the ways she provides for us. I saw how there were so many amazing plants that offer their essence and powers to keep us in a state of equilibrium. Getting here has been a road that I am so grateful for. I have gained so much knowledge about life and the way our emotions, are so very entangled with our physical selves. Helping others is something that I have always been called to do. I started off as a Certified Nurse's Assistant taking care of elderly people in various nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Being a Certified Nurse's Assistant was an experience that I will take with me through my entire life. It taught me another level of compassion and empathy for other human beings that I would have never known if it wasn't for those experiences. Over time I began to see the cracks in the medical system on a deeper level. I asked myself, there has to be a way to care for people, so they don't need to have so much suffering at the end of life. Or wonder if the food that they would give people healing from injuries was really helpful to their circumstances. During that time, I was also battling with personal issues due to my menstrual cycle. I had always had bad periods and over the years they didn't seem to be getting any better. When I was 14, I was diagnosed with development of cysts on my ovaries. I saw doctors to help, and their only solution was to put me on birth control. When I began experiencing side effects, I knew I couldn't keep taking it. As time kept going by, I started to experience horrible mood swings and waves of depression. I was then diagnosed with PMDD.  It was years before I learned about natural medicines from plants. When I started to research and learn more, I saw that there was so much more I could do. Not fully knowing how I was going to get there I set off on the quest. Experimenting with different concoctions and remedies to ease the discomfort. And through that I began understanding more that it isn't just about easing discomfort, it's about assisting in the body's natural ability to live in homeostasis. Plants and Food have so many properties that help the body to function the way it's supposed to. Once I knew that it was hard to ignore and Genesis Essentials was truly born. The ability to help my friends and family by creating simple yet powerful natural remedies is a gift that I have been called to do in this life. So, I have developed blends that I consider necessary to my regimens, and I hope yours as well!
