All About the Tea!

Simply put, tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant. Its leaves are processed in different ways at various stages of growth, which creates the wide variety of teas we know and love. The main types include Green Tea, Black Tea, White Tea, Oolong Tea, and more. Among these, Green and Black Tea contain the highest amounts of caffeine, while White and Oolong Teas tend to have a smoother, lighter profile.


Along with true teas from the Camellia sinensis plant, there are also herbal teas — technically called tisanes — made by infusing herbs, flowers, spices, and fruits. Herbal teas are essential to the conversation because they offer not only exciting flavors and aromas but also a range of powerful health benefits. It’s amazing to reflect on how tea has been part of my journey from a young age. Whether it was my mom giving me a cup of orange tea when I wasn’t feeling well or just enjoying the bright citrus flavors with (way too much) sugar, tea was always a comfort. As I grew older, my palate matured, and I learned to appreciate the true essence of tea — the subtle earthy notes, the floral hints, and the natural sweetness brought out with just a drop of honey, if anything at all.
